Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Absolutely delicious! I had the Apple Walnut Salad, and I added salmon. My husband had the Cajun Bourbon Filet Tips with mixed vegetables. My husband used to be an assistant chef, so I rarely find steak out anywhere that I even rometly like as well as his, he let me have a bite, this came very close! The only negative I can say is that the potion was a little on the small side. We will definitely go back."
"Had dinner with a couple of buddies. Food was very good and service was excellent. Nice place for dinner or lunch with plenty of menu options. Comfort food is always a hit around this area. And the noise level was adequate enough that we can hold a conversation without yelling at each other."
"Made reservations. Arrived on time and asked "how long we would be" which was odd but we rolled with it and made the guy laugh. Started with a Woodford Old Fashioned, nice and strong. Ordered the pretzel with cheese dip (4 sticks) very nice portion and they were excellent (usually don't rate pretzels/cheese as excellent but these were very good). Had Cajun bourbon tips (excellent, highly recommend. Ham and Swiss om a pretzwl bun which was very good but needed a little mayo. This place is always crowded (that should tell you something). A little on the loud side but it's mostly people enjoying themselves and the good food. Definitely will be back."
"FMPH is such a fun local restaurant! They always have clever sayings on the streetside marquee. Their food is delicious. Lots of great choices with a Southern cajun flair. From burgers, to pastas, to sandwiches, and salads, their menu variety is fantastic. The wait staff and bartenders are fast, friendly, and amazing. I've been there many times with my family and friends and never had a bad meal. Great for watching sports there too. They also have a lovely outdoor patio for those warmer sunny days to relax and enjoy yourself. It's a wonderful place for locals, travelers, and anyone else nearby. Their crab cakes and flatbreads are deeee-licious, wow. Check them out soon!! Yummo ."
"One of our favorite places to go. Outstanding food. Really cool, cozy environment. Staff doesn't ever seem to change - all good people. Kudos to Mike for the entire operation. Favorites: Pretzel may be the best in greater Cincinnati. Burger is outstanding. I had the cajun quesadilla last night. Loved it. Great neighborhood bar/restaurant."
"Our family ate here for brunch on a Sunday. Ed, Morgan, and all the staff did a splendid job making us feel welcome and cared for. Food was superb. We have little ones, which can sometimes be a distraction, and they were attended to and welcomed. We will be returning! Good job, yall!"
"The Public House is one of those spots that just feels right. Back when it was Indigo’s — and even going way back to Charlie McKeevers — it’s always been a neighborhood favorite, and that tradition is still alive and well. The vibe is relaxed and local, but the food and service are absolutely 5-star. The Cajun catfish is perfectly seasoned with just the right kick, and the cheeseburger is flat-out on point every time. Great atmosphere, great people, and consistently great food."
"We had such a great experience celebrating our daughter’s birthday lunch at Fort Mitchell Public House. We had a group of 20+ guests, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Our server was amazing — so attentive, kind, and helpful throughout the entire meal. The food was delicious and came out in a timely manner, even with our large group. One of the sweetest touches was when she brought coloring books and crayons for the kids when they started getting a little restless. It made the afternoon even more enjoyable for everyone. We really appreciated the care and attention from the staff and had a wonderful time celebrating there. We’ve also visited previously for dinner and had a lovely experience then as well, which made us even more excited to celebrate here."
